The Water Park Is Open

Everyday for nearly 3 months the girls would ask if we were going to drive by the water park. Lucky for them it's located outside of our subdivision as we go towards town. At one point they became so obsessed with it that it would cause fights over who's "side" it was on as we drove by haha but that didn't last too long. We all went down on its second day of being open even though the wind was blowing and it was a tad chilly. The girl's friends Grace and Baby Blake came along to play!

Grace was fearless and didn't let the cold wind hold her back. In no time she had gone down the water slides dozens of times. After watching for a while Emmy finally got up the courage to brave the cold water, while Lilah only ran NEAR the sprinklers lol. They totally get their dislike of swimming and playing in cold water honestly because I can't handle it either. It won't be long now and we'll be heading into the hot summer...... I think if you ask the kids they'll tell you that we'll be spending lots of time at Front Beach!!

I love this photo!!

You can see Emmy standing under the bucket looking up as it's tipping!!

Easter Egg Party: Part One

 Aaawwwww Friends!
Lilah, Alexis, Emerson, and Grace

Getting them to stand in a row and look at the camera was nearly impossible!!

Here's Lilah and Emmy all set up for Egg Coloring and waiting for our friends to arrive. They are shouting "HAPPY EASTER" for the camera!  Notice Brodie-Boy is hanging out as always!  He loves to be apart of the action!

Here we are in full swing.  I had each station set up with paints, paint brushes, rollers, clear wax crayons, stickers, picture shrinky egg wraps, glitter, egg dipper, and egg stands with a set of egg stamps to share.  Each Mom brought their own Eggs and containers to put as many colors as they wanted.  I was worried that I wouldn't have enough cups to supply everyone and I think I was right because 5 colors x  5 set ups = 25 cups! Yes! I had my own colors and then each child did too.....I'm really just a big kid! haha  The Mom's also bought decorating goodies too.  I think the biggest hit was the Sparkly Diamante Stickers!
Here's our completed Easter Eggs that we did. (Emmy, Lilah, and Myself)  It was so crazy around here and such a mad house that I didn't get a chance to snap a photo of the other collections.  If you ladies took photo's when you got home of your eggs please email them to be and I'll update the post with them!

I had so much fun this year and the girls did too.  Emmy got into the decorating much more than Lilah did, but there was big time distractions with having friends over and they all wanted to play with each other.  I did more helping rather than decorating since it was a "party" affair, but I didn't mind because it was such a blast.  If we have another Easter Egg Party, or any Craft Party in the future I think it would be best to first allow the kids to play together for an hour so they get that out of their systems and then they'll be more willing to totally focus on the craft at hand.

I bet you are wondering what we did with all these eggs huh!?  We had an Easter Egg Hunt of course!  That was a whole other day and will be a whole other post!  I do have to show you the super cute Cake Pops that I made for our party!! Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Icing covered in White Candy Coating with Dark Chocolate Swirls on top and some sprinkles! Yummy!

uumm Avocado...

Lilah had a little taste of some avocado yesterday when I was making up some guacamole. She seemed to like it and ate up all that I gave her, but then she started getting fussy so I picked her up and snapped a few photo's and it was over. She's not ready for food yet, but this was a fun little experience for her.

This face cracks me up!! What does it mean??
"Geezzz mom.... look at what you're doing to me!!"

Love that smile!

We got giggles!

I got Lilah to give me real giggles today! She loves to be whooshed up into the air and brought down for kisses. What baby doesn't?! I kept trying to get her into a roaring laugh but we'd peak at a high squeal haha.

Emmy is full on teething. She cut her bottom left first molar on Monday and the right side is super puffy and swollen. It won't be more than a day or two and it'll be through the skin too. Needless to say this will be the excuse for her naughty behavior. She's also saying a new word almost daily or a word much more clearer. Her clearest words are Daddy, Cookie, Eat, Water, Bye Bye, No, Dog, Shoes, Hot, Bubbles, Bird.. and I'm probably missing a few. Words not so clear are Up, Lilah, Book, Hat, and Banana, she says "nana". Oh and Clock which is odd since all the other words she knows the signs for. She picked up Kim's watch one day and brought it to me and I told her "that's a watch; a clock" and she said "clock" but try and get her to say Mom...... no way! Just once in a great while do I hear a "mom".

I've been wanting to dress them up and try getting some super cute photo's of them together this week but so far it's been too darn cold to attempt it. As soon as we get a warmer day we'll have to play camera time.

Look at what I find after nap time!!

When you hear some cooing you know nap time is over and it's time to play!

Little Kimmy

They were hanging out this morning looking cute while watching Sesame Street. I can't believe how much Emmy looks like Kim in these pictures... even right down to the hand in the mouth and legs wide open. So lady like!!

Officially Four Months Old

This is my Kate Gosling hair do.... what do you think??

4 Months old and she's getting so rolly polly now. In just the past two days I've noticed that she will reach out with intention and succeed at grasping her hanging toys firmly and smile.

Lilah loves to watch Emmy and it's so cute..... Emmy will come up to her and do a little rocking dance back and forth and smile and kiss her face.

So far she's still a finger sucker and I don't think that's going to stop anytime soon. We know when she's tired and ready for a nap because she'll get fussy and try to get to her hands.

The car rides have become more peaceful for her (at least day time car rides) I think this is because she's old enough now to self sooth with her fingers and she can focus on seeing things. Plus she hates to be on her back when she's tired and now she can get those fingers in her mouth and deal with it better. We've moved her up to Emmy's old car seat and I added some extra padding to it and you wouldn't believe how soft and comfy it is. Who wouldn't want to ride around that way! lol

She's really loving her baths now and will kick around and wiggle which is such a difference from when she was born. Boy did she hate those baths!! During the day if I'm cold and Emmy's cranky I'll put us all in the bath together and play. Emmy wants so bad for Lilah to play with her so in the next few months as she learns to sit up I can see bath time becoming a huge part of the play day. Plus... we're three Pisces....... do you think you could keep us out of the bath? OOoOOoO I dream of a huge garden tub! It's on my honey do list! But we're off track here...this is about Lilah being 4 months old!

Happy, healthy, and what more can I say. I love her oodles!

Lilah's Stats at 16 weeks....

Lilah doing what she loves to do! Sucking on those fingers! I think she'd get her whole hand in there if she could! She also did a first today and rolled over. She had a little bit of cheating help. She was laying on Emmy's floor couch pulled out and had her head elevated on a bit of a pillow but she was able to use her tummy muscles to pull up and roll on over. I scooped her up and started telling her what a big girl she was and jumping up and down to make her smile and Emmy got all excited to and started jumping up and down the best she could in her highchair hahahha

look'n cute

Just like a little baby doll! 18 wks

A funny smile and wearing her new bib!

She loves the necklaces mommy made for her!

Check out the Elvis inspired hair-do! haha

Emmy's super good at arching her back now when we go to pick her up. She's been doing it noticeable well for a little bit over a week. She will scoot all over the play mat now while reaching up for her toys. I'm still waiting for her to roll over again but I don't think she has any interest in doing that so she might not haha. She's doing pretty good at sitting up... it'll take her a good 10 - 12 seconds before she starts to fall over. As for updates that's about it.

tummy time

slept through the night in full

Things seem to be back to normal for Emmy. The past two nights she's been her happy self and has slept well through the night. In fact last night was the first night she has slept all the way through without having a feed! Hurray! So I'm not sure what was up with the three nights in a row of strange behavior but I'm glad it has passed and she doesn't seem to be in any pain. I had Lia look at her gums yesterday to let me know what she thinks because I don't feel or see anything. She says her bottom gums look a little white to her so teeth may not be too far away. I got my first tooth at 5 months and I think Kim got his at 10 months so that doesn't really help us narrow it down any haha As for me I'm 6 weeks today. I've had a few moments of feeling woozy but nothing really to complain about. Last time I felt a bit off from week 6-8 so it makes this time much easier to know that it will end and it will not be that bad compared to people like my poor cousin Jennie who heaved everything for months. I'm working on uploading a new video so as soon as it's finished I'll post it up. I think I'll also try and snap some cute photo's later today so hopefully I'll have some goodies to post tonight!

best pals and bad habits

Emmy's has started her first bad habit I think. The past three nights she's been pretty happy through the evening and will go to bed her normal time any where between 8-9 pm and then wake up around 10 pm screaming. There's no wined up cry; it's just a scream then open my eyes cry. So at first I thought she must be in pain and gave her teething gel and soothed her after much effort and put her back to sleep. The next night it happened again and I was in bed early myself so I popped her into bed with me and she eventually calmed down. Third time in a row was last night. She just screams. I gave her some teething gel, some pain medicine, and offered her both water and a bottle and laying in bed with me. Nothing really seemed to help so then Kim walked with her for a while and she'd have moments of being quite and then she'd remember that she was suppose to be crying so she would start again. I kept her distracted with Care Bare Movie 2005 Big Wish haha for a while. She really likes the Star in it called Twinkers. Then I offered her a bottle again and she sucked it down and fell asleep and then didn't wake up until 4 am but didn't eat so I put her back down in her bed and she fell back to sleep by herself and woke up again at 8 am and had some milk and is happy as can be. SO I really don't understand what the problem is so it might just be a pattern shes entertaining? If anyone has a suggestion I'd love to hear it!

our trip

Emmy will be making her American debut August 19th - October 26th! I'm very excited for my family and friends to get to meet little Emmy in person! Some of the things we are looking forward to is: August Humidity, Indiana Sweet Corn, Grandma's cooking, Family & Friends, MEXICAN FOOD, Walmart, Pumpkin Carving, Thanksgiving (early for our benefit), Baby Shower fun, and more Mexican food! hahaha

We'll be flying Air New Zealand and Emmy's Auntie Ashley will be meeting us in LA so I can get a much needed break for the last 2 flights of the trip! If she's not careful I might make her come back to Australia on our return trip! haha

lots of fun things

Kim and I hung up the last of the wall art I made when pregnant today and I'm sure Emmy will enjoy having something new to look at while she gets a diaper change!

I feel when Emmy is ready for more than milk her body will know and she'll tell me ie grabbing for our food and showing interest. Baby Led Weaning is what it's called, but to appease my grandma here are some photo's (EVIDENCE) of Emmy trying banana mixed with formula....uummmm yummy huh (this is not baby led weaning just so you don't get confused). haha Secretly I think it drives my grandmother nuts that I haven't tried Emmy on any solids yet. She didn't really like it and just spit it all out but I think first bites always go this way. It was fun to see her reaction! I think we'll give it a couple more weeks and we might try a bite of avocado. And the fun bit is Emmy will be turning 6 months shortly after we arrive back home so my mom and grandma will get to see Emmy really dig into her first finger foods!

My friend Gretchen surprised us yesterday with a package in the mail for Miss Emmy. She had made the cutest pillow with her name on the front on pink and the back is green and white. Perfect for her nursery and we love it! Thanks Sweetie!!!!

17 weeks

Time is flying so fast and Emmy is 17 weeks today! When do I stop counting weeks and just go by months? lol She's getting more and more vocal everyday. She squeals as loud as she can when playing with her toys, and in the morning when she wakes up she'll talk out loudly and when she catches Kim and I looking at her in the dark this big smile comes over her face and she gives us a little laugh. I think she must be thinking "mission accomplished...their awake!" She's mastered the reaching out and grabbing for toys on her play mat but hasn't surprised me with anymore rolling over. Tummy time isn't one of her favorite things to do and it will last about a solid 5 to 7 Min's and then she lets me know that she's had enough.

I'm a ham, ham, ham!

Mom said the funniest thing!

"Fool, who you look'n at??"
This is what they do to me in the morning before we take Dad to the train!
