Our First Wedding

Emmy's waiting for the action to start. I told her that the girls were going to be dressed up really fancy like Barbie is and to go see if she could see them.

The Bridesmaid dresses were just gorgeous and I really loved the color. The bouquets were so pretty and they had the exact shade of their dress in roses too! Markos was so handsome in his little tux! I think my girls would have made perfect flower girls..... what's up with that Renee!?! haha The girls were absolute angels throughout the entire ceremony! I had my fingers crossed and was fairly confident that they'd do well, but you never know.... they can always pull out a freak show when you least expect it!!

The only picture I got with her looking directly at me smiling. I was trying to snap one of them together, but the girls were not making it easy!

Turning around to ask her sister to come up the path with her.
"Lilah, come on.....come with me."

She was in a great mood, so that isn't a mean face although it looks like it. I caught her at just the right moment saying something. It's such a devilish look though!

I didn't set out to only take pictures of Emmy, but Lilah didn't want to walk in the grass and when I tried to get her picture she wasn't interested, so it kind of turned into an Emmy pictorial! haha

Not my favorite picture of us, but it's nice to have at least one where we're all in it. The sun was in our eyes and poor Lilah didn't like that at all! I do like that Daddy's tie matches the girls! How sweet!! After this we said goodbye to everyone and headed out for dinner as we were unable to attend the reception because we couldn't find a sitter and their was a no children policy. I was pretty disappointed I missed out on the party and after seeing the girl's fabulous behavior during the ceremony I think they might have done well for the reception too, but again... you never know. In the end it made for a fun family day. I love getting the girls all dressed up and they really enjoy it to so I think they'll be attending weddings with us from now on *smiles*

When Emmy first went into the field she was saying "whoo hooo fairies, where are you" haha I think it's about time that I get out the fairy ring we made last year and put it back up in the yard and wait and see what special treats they will bring us! I think it will be such a fun tradition to do each spring!!

My Little Chickens

I remember this costume from years ago before I had the girls on the Martha Stewart show for quick costume ideas. I knew I wanted to make them someday and just the right opportunity presented itself last week. The theme for the last day of playgroup this term was Barnyard. I attached white boas to onesies (old stained up ones because it didn't matter) and I made a proper baby bonnet out of some white fleece I had laying around and I had my husband enlarge the pattern by 15% , then I added a red felt comb. The yellow jersey knit I already had on hand from another project and it worked perfectly for leggings. The original costume idea called for yellow dish gloves to go on the feet and legs which I think would work perfect for a baby that doesn't move much, but for children that are walking I think it's just a hazard. I could have made felt Chicken Feet that would attach around the ankle and lay over the shoe, but honestly I couldn't be fussed with small details. This was just a project I stretched out over several days doing a few minutes here and there on the machine and doing my hand stitching while watching The View & Days of Our Lives.




The kids were pretty pumped up about their costumes. They had watched me all week working on them and seeing them come together. I had fitted them once or twice so they had a good idea of what it would be like.

We had Grandma Betsy call before we left the house for playgroup so she could see just how cute they were. We all danced around the living room walking like chickens lol

Next minute, Emmy decided to lay down on the grass and have a little rest!

Lilah went up and laid down too, but then she decided to get up quickly, but notice how she's trying to get up with out having to have her hands touch the grass...wuss! When she stood up though there were nearly 200 black bugs all over her back feathers....I started ruffling her feathers knocking them out. Emmy didn't have one bug on her, so Lilah much have laid right down over their next/house. I don't think they were harmful at all, but nobody wants 200 of something on them.....ew!!!!


Next they each had a turn on their slide then it was time to jump in the car to head to playgroup!



This is probably Lilah's favorite thing to do when we're there. Swinging! She also really likes the big old piano they have there for the kids to bang on.


After the kids have there play time and the mom's clean up the mess it's time for a few stories and songs. Usually this is the time that the kids eat their packed lunches but today was a party day so we all went outside to have a picnic with lots of party foods! We brought strawberries dipped in white chocolate. Half of them were then dipped in sprinkles and the other half left plain. Yummy!

We had such a fun day. Now that it's school break time that means no playgroup until the end of October. She bugs me all the time "mommy, can we go to playgroup!?" at-least 2-3 times a week, and it's so hard to explain to them that it's not going to happen for a while.
I guess that means we'll be open for play dates the next couple weeks. :)

Measurement Update

Measured the girls today. Lilah (18 months) is the height Emmy was at (15 months) They have consistently been about this much apart. The best predictor of the future is past patterns, so if this is true in this case then we'd expect Lilah to grow 4-5 cm by the time she's two.

At two years old they say to double their height and that's the best guesstimate of their adult height. Emmy worked out to be 5 foot 6 in (my height) as an adult, so this means Lilah could be 5 foot 3inches (if she grows 4 cm which is the more likely of the two) OR (if she grows 5 cm) 5 foot 4 inches. I think by her petite size and consistent growth pattern for the past 18 months that this is a very accurate prediction.

Looks like Emmy and I will get to borrow each others shoes but Lilah will get to have hers all to herself! lol When ever I go shoe shopping theirs always tons of smaller sizes but never any left in my size so I guess that will be a plus for Lilah and she's also got a mama that can alter clothing :) But she might find it harder to carry that extra 5 pounds of junk in the trunk haha but I don't think she'll have a problem with that....too much of Grandma Betsy in them!

The Fairies Show

Here's the pictures from The Fairies show and a short video of the girls waiting for the show to start. We had mom's new camera on the wrong settings and did not get good photo's, boo! The show was so fun and Emmy really enjoyed it. I loved it when she got up and danced along with them, but most of the time she was happy to sit in my lap or mom's and watch the show. I bought her several items and one of them ended up being stolen. I couldn't believe it... someone had the nerve to steal from a child! I went back up to the merchandise booth and they were kind enough to replace her item free of charge. I also want to say how super pleased I was with the prices of the stuff. It's nice to go to something where you don't have to spend an arm and leg to get your kid a few fun things! Thanks Fairies!!

Around the house...

Bethany and Jade came over for a play date on Sunday and we were so lucky to get some hot weather before all this rain has set in! We started off with a little bit of water play in a bowl and before we knew it the pool was out and naked babies everywhere! hahah

First sentences and laughs..

Last Thursday Emmy surprised us with her first official sentence. Kim asked her a question and she replied with a quick and clear "I don't know." we both heard it and started laughing. The next day she came out with another one. She walked up to me and told me "It's a baby!" she found it so amusing that I was impressed and excited so she then said it over and over about 100 times. Another funny thing she did was when Kim was helping me take her out of the bath when he was saying his morning goodbyes before work and she must have not been completely dried off when he was holding her and he said "Oh, are you peeing on me!?" She looked at him sternly and insulted like and said "NO!" We died laughing again! haha Too funny!

Sitting up after nap time...

Lilah is nearly sitting up now. It won't long and she'll be able to do it all by herself. She just woke up from a nap here and I popped her onto our bed and she was being all cute. She looks so grown up but so tiny all at the same time.








This is what dinner looks like before dad gets home. The kids are always hungry before the official dinner so we hang out in the kitchen and pick around an various foods. Brodie is always around during feeding time for obvious reasons haha Smile kids! :) Emmy also has two new teeth. Yay! She's been handling this round of teething much better than the last one.

Also... Carolyn & my grandmother must think this place is a mad house with insane children. When ever I'm on the phone trying to talk to them Emmy starts screaming and arguing with me over everything and Lilah becomes unsettled, but as soon as I get off the phone it's peace and quite. EVERY TIME!! Why is this!?!? I'm not lying.... look at the smiling faces in the pictures LOL
