Christmas Clean Out!

I rearranged the girl's snuggarie and did a big clean out since we are going to be bombarded with Christmas in a few weeks! I didn't really have too many things to get rid of, but I did put a lot of things into tubs with lids and tucked them away in the hall closet and every now and then I'll switch out the tub of ponies for the barbies or the dolls for all the kitchen stuff...ect.....

My favorite party is their dress up wall! So much fun to be had! I don't really like the rug in the room, but we have it so I use it. I might have to get rid of it though and go for one that matches the room more!

I don't know how long we'll keep the belly cast in their room or what the heck we'll do with it once we take it out. Does anyone have any suggestions?

She's playing with her microwave toy. This thing was worth every nickle. She played with it when she first got it for hours at a time.

I wish we hadn't put the initials on the wardrobe now that the girls share this space! You can see our shoe holder is full... I think I'll have to make another one to hang directly under that one. I don't know what other mom's do with all of the shoes if they don't have one of these? I do have two girls in 1 space, so it's twice as much as what one child would have, but still... it's so hard to keep it all organized.

After many hours of work and bugging my husband to finish it I was able to do my part and get it all decorated. I think it turned out pretty darn good for our first attempt at one. *High Five*

one step closer to being completed

WooOoOo Mom looking HOT!

Mom and I worked on and off for 2 days to complete the paint job and we are both very happy with how it turned out! Every time we turned around there seemed to be an obstacle in how we could achieve what we wanted but in the end it all worked out. There's still plenty to do like hang up the wall art, finish the belly cast, and make the crib bedding (which we're working on next ) but it seems like it's finally all coming together!!

Notice all the stuffed animals high up out of Brodie's reach haha! He's been very good about not chewing on anything that is Emmy's but I do not trust him completely!

I'm getting more curtains to make them a bit fuller and I can't wait to hang up the artwork! Eventually we'll also get a fun floor rug for her room too.

Here's a couple new pictures of Emmy. She's really started to fill out and get a little fatter. We had her weighted yesterday and she's 9lbs now and today she's 3 weeks old, and I absolutely love her to pieces and I love to kiss on those fat cheeks!!!

I've been hoping and praying that her hair isn't going to rub off or fall out and so far she's still got it all!! I'm sure there will still be a bit at the back that will break off when she starts really turning her head back and forth like crazy, but it shouldn't be too long and I'll be able to put in cute bows!

Lactose Update

We took her to the doctor yesterday to see if in fact she's truly intolerant and she is. The doctor wrote us a prescription for Karicare De-Lac formula and I was very happy to have something that was going to be better for her. After the first bottle we thought she seemed a bit unsettled compared to what she has been, but we continued through the night to feed her the new formula. By morning no one had got much sleep and she seemed in terrible belly pain. We agreed that the new formula was not working for her and that the S-26 LF was way better! We took her back to the doctor which was a different doctor due to today being a public holiday here and most places are closed. He said that we should stay with what works (which we knew) and then wrote us a script for the S-26 which is so nice because that means we get the formula for $5 per can compared to buying it at the store for $20 per can. It's now dinner time and she's had all her feeds today with the S-26 and she's already feeling much better and finally had a restful nap. I think tonight will go much smoother and that's better for everyones sack!! haha

the wardrobe is done!

So as of yesterday it looks like we'll be having a baby on February 24th! I'll go into the hospital for induction that Sunday morning and hopefully have a baby Sunday night! My moms flight will come in on the 23rd at 2:30pm so it's perfect timing!!

The wardrobe is all built, painted, put together, and semi filled. Kim did such a wonderful job! I'm so happy with how it turned out! Love you honey!

Of course Brodie is right there in the mix of whatever I'm doing and just happened to pose perfect for this picture!

I gave the lamp base a coat of white paint and oOoooO it's sooo pretty now!

We stopped by an antique shop on the way home today and I found some fun goodies! I got a little lamp for the nursery and added some ribbons I braided together along the bottom to match the curtain ties I made the other day.

I haven't decided if I want to paint the lamp stem white or green. Since the walls haven't been painted yet it's hard to tell what accessories might be overkill. Does anyone have an opinion to share? I think white will be best since the walls on the upper portion will be green and the lower portion with be white and pink stripes.

My second favorite goodie I found was this old whicker basket. It'll be a great toy basket and I've already filled it up!Tomorrow I'll be working on some detail painting for the wardrobe. whoooo ooo

my first post

So I've been inspired by my friend Morgan *smiles* to start my own blog. It'll be a great way to write about all the fun and new things happening when the baby is here to keep my family and friends informed.
I'm roughly 3 weeks from being induced and we've been busy tieing up loose ends. I've almost completed packing my hospital bag and Kim's been working all day on making a wardrobe for the nursery and by next saturday it should be ready for painting and I'll post pictures! So far the nusery is coming along nicely. I've saved the nusery walls to paint with my mom who won't arrive here until Feb 23.

Our colors are Corquette Pink, Oasis Green, & Lillium White. This is the little family hand me down dresser I painted the other day. It was Kim's dresser when he was little and it was painted yellow & green and before that it was his mothers childhood dresser painted white. I was so excited when I found out we could use this special piece in our nursery!
