Harrison/Nicholls Christmas 2009

We want to give a big thank you for all the great gifts the girls received this holiday season. It's hard to keep track of who got what and from whom so if we missed giving you a personal thank you .. please know we appreciate it!

We had Christmas breakfast with Grandma & Grandpa Harrison, Auntie Lia & Uncle Adrian, Auntie Abby and cousins Bethany & Jade, and then we let the kids exchange their presents to each other. The rest of the family showed up before lunch time and we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Lunch. (Everything looked beautiful, Jan!!) It was time for more presents after that so we brought them outside were the kids were playing and they got to unwrap them in the sun. It was pretty hot, but super fun! Check out all the fun pictures below.

From here on out all my pictures will be resized to much smaller sizes because it cuts way back on upload time. Because of this they will not be suitable for printing so if there is a photo you'd like in it's original size then just email me and I'll send it to you. Also... I need you (Nic) to send me the photo's you took of the girls kissing Markos :)

Seeing their presents for the first time!

Unwrapping their first presents!

Merry Christmas :)

Auntie Abby is finally here :)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Abby arrived safely in Adelaide today. Emmy had a great time watching the airplanes coming in and landing and when we saw Abby coming down the ramp she was smiling and started flaring around because she wanted to get down to run over to greet her.

It didn't take long and Abby has now become the new favorite person in the house! Once we got home they all went straight to the playroom and started playing and I had to drag them out to come talk to Grandma Betsy on skype. Abby's trip over was a little stressful on everyone involved. There was a big mess up with luggage on American Airlines end and it resulted in Abby having to pick up all her checked bags at each stop. Such idiots!! She nearly missed her check in deadline in LAX for her V Australia flight to Melbourne. She made it with about 3 mins to spear... got the luggage finally checked properly, paid unnecessary fine and was finally on her way.

Here's a video of Abby arriving :)

Auntie Abby is on her way....

(tried to find an Emmy angel hehe)

Please pray for my sister Abby to have a safe trip here. She's on her way to LA now and then to Melbourne and then finally we'll get to pick her up 24 hours from now at the Adelaide Airport! Yay! We're so super excited!

Thanks Auntie Kelly & Nanna Pam

What a great surprise! The mail man stopped by this morning with a big box for Emmy and Lilah from their Auntie Kelly and Nanna Pam. Emmy followed me into the kitchen repeating over and over "open it, open it" haha. It was filled with My Little Ponies, Christmas cards, coloring books, stickers, and my old sleeping bag! What a special thing to have :) Emmy is already in love with this sleeping bag! We're ready for camping now haha Thank you for thinking of us and the great presents. xoxo Emmy, Lilah, and Sari

Love that crazy morning hair!

She was saying "OooOo The Little Mermaid"

She's going to get lots of hours of fun coloring out of this coloring/sticker book!

She was saying "OOOOO A PONY!"

Lilah was happy to watch all the unwrapping and loved kicking around in the paper!

Merry Christmas Perkins Family

The kids played together yesterday, swam in the pool and exchanged Christmas presents. I think this was the only time we could keep their clothes on was for the unwrapping hahah. Also who needs a bathing suit when you have a birthday suit? lol Ashlee got Emmy the new 3 Musketeers Barbie with Horse. What a great gift! Lilah got a pretend blender that you put different shaped pieces into and then it mixes them up hahaha does that make sense? I need to get a picture of her playing with it. I love the Christmas season! Watching children unwrap presents is the best ever! Lilah got a little overwhelmed with everyone watching and didn't open hers. I think Emmy will get to do the majority of her unwrapping this year :)

Standing, Falling, & Talking

Lilah pulled herself up for the first time today! I was running a bath and she was so excited and couldn't wait to get in so she grabbed the side and pulled herself up so she could peer in.

She also had a couple other firsts today. She was crawling around from the living room into the entry way and our doorways have metal frames instead of wood ones and the poor little thing fell onto her belly and it forced her into the frame and puffed and bloodied her lip. I popped her on the boob and all was better. She's never been one to really be comforted by feeding, but the older she gets the more it works.

I'll leave you with a happy first. I was using my cell phone while Lilah was sitting with me on the bed. When I was done with the call she grabbed the phone from me and put it to her ear. I then asked her over and over to "talk on the phone" and she kept putting it to her ear. I was so excited that of course I went and got the camera! Once I got the camera rolling Emmy joined in and Lilah was getting tired of fulfilling my request and just wanted to chew on it, but she did it a couple of times. Isn't she just the cutest thing ever!

Bring On The Heat!

We got to take our first dip in our deck pool today! We were happy girls!!

I Can Crawl!!

After weeks and weeks of arm crawling she's finally getting up on those knees and doing what she's suppose to do haha. She's tried to make it to the kitchen from the living room a few times because she knows that I'm in there, but will give up after almost getting there. I think she gets tired and wusses out.

She's also clapping her hands and loves to give mommy kisses. Daddy was a lucky duck and got a big wet one the other day too!

Breakfast With Santa

We did Breakfast with Santa this morning. It was sponsored by McDonald's so I bet you can't guess what we had. The girls got free breakfast then Santa came around to give out a present, but Emmy screamed her head off and official doesn't like Santa haha. Emmy got a balloon cat and Lilah got a balloon flower. They also had face painting, but Emmy wasn't showing her best face so it was time to get out of there. Sorry, there are no pictures for this post.

Kinder Gym - our wednesday mornings

Here's some pictures from Kinder Gym. I didn't get anything really good, but still wanted to post them to give you all an idea of our Wednesday mornings. It's free play for an hour and Emmy goes from one end of this place to the other like a chimpanzee. She's climbing on everything or jumping off of something. On our way home she's always ready for milk and then passes out for a long nap. Yay! haha On this particular day it was their Christmas party so children were asked to wear something 'special' and to bring a treat. We brought fairy bread circles, cucumber sandwiches, and vegemite circles.

playing with the jingle bells

give you sister a hug please :)

this shows about a quarter of the room

Hey Lilah, what are you doing?

Heathgate Family BBQ 2009

Yesterday was Kim's Family Christmas Picnic for his company at the Tusmore Park. The girls had a great time. Emmy played shy at first and would put her arm up to cover her face, but warmed up after a few minutes. She must think Kim and I are boring because she will invite herself into other adult groups. She does this to me at Kinder Gym too. She'll walk right up to a couple of mom's talking and she'll sit down right in the middle of them and start talking to them or smiling at them. Such a ham!

Kim did most of the running after her and playing with her at the slide while I looked after Lilah. We played on the blankets and grazed on some goodies I brought for them to eat.

All babies seem to love their dad's beer!

Emmy was near where Santa was going to sit when he come walking down the lane. I was telling Emmy "look! look! here comes Santa!" Once she spotted him she had a look of terror come across her face and then she turned around and ran towards me as fast as she could. So funny! She didn't even want to watch him while he was calling names to hand out presents for each of the children.

Running from Santa!

Lilah's name got called first out of the two and I thought for sure she'd cry, but all she did was whimper and look at me and then at him.
Once he gave her a present she was pretty satisfied with that, but had no idea what to do with it.

Click the picture to view larger!

Next was Emmy. Kim had to chase after her and drag her over and he plopped her down on his lap. She surprised me with not crying one bit, but she had the biggest frown on her face and she wouldn't look at him, lol!

Emmy got right to business unwrapping the presents. She ripped into hers first then started in on Lilah's. Emmy got a mermaid Dora that floats and swims in the bath tub or pool and Lilah got a soft baby doll. We didn't need another soft doll or stuffed animal so I exchanged it at Toys R Us for a more suitable toy for them. We got the Ice Cream Shop play doh center. So fun!!

Emmy really liked her Dora doll until she started looking around to see what the other children got and then she started to whine and complain that the older girls had Disney Barbies. It was so sad... she was pointed at them and looking back at me saying "barrrbiieeee".

For the rest of the day she did whatever she could to get to the other girl's Disney Princess dolls with matching horses and would throw a huge fit when we'd tell her to leave them alone. We tried to show her Dora but she was so mad that she refused to look at her and would turn her whole body away from it, haha. A few times she tried to sneak off with the other girls' dolls, and was so sad when she got caught. She did manage to get lucky and one mom let her play with the Cinderella until her daughter saw and wanted them back. How do you explain to a 21 month old that she has to be happy with what she got? I guess that comes with time!

My Sister Is SO Funny!!

Lilah and Emmy were playing in the ball pit and making each other laugh and I grabbed the camera and was lucky enough to catch a super cute video!!

Christmas Fun!

I got the fab idea to do some Christmas window painting and I am so happy I did! It came out great! Nic & Markos came over to hang out and help this past Friday. A paint job that should have taken two adults no more than 45 mins took about 3 hours... haha. It was hard work keeping the babies happy and trying to work at the same time, but we managed to get it done. What do you think!? Nic suggested that I get some window clings of snowflakes to add to it and I think that would be a really nice touch. When we went shopping on Saturday I kept my eye out for some but haven't found any yet.

Emmy & Nic working hard!

Markos sharing a taste of the bubble wand.

Here's cute cousin Markos :) Look at those beautiful blue eyes!

This kept them happy for the longest stretch. Baby Signing Time!!

9 Months Old

I can wave now and clap my hands. I love to dance especially when my sister is dancing to The Fairies! I get around pretty good with an army crawl and today made it from the computer in the living room into the entry way and half way down the hall. Pretty good don't you think!? Mom still needs to get me weighted and measured this week to see how much I have grown. We'll keep you updated! All the pictures above were taken of me the other day having my first taste of Jello! I loved it!!
